Seems like many of your products do the same thing. It's a bit unclear. Is there a singple product with all the functions (healing, combat, etc) that will work on a one PC with as many clients as I want to run, that works in any game?

I run 5+ clients on a single PC. I'm mostly interested in a program that will run in the background and control my healer for me, while I play my tank/DPS.

Hey there. Thanks for stopping by. Wink

A lot of the programs here are for 2 boxing, but usually by different means. Some have to use this type of send mode to work with this game and others use that type and a different delay to work with that game.  Some games work with an inactive window, others do not.

Depending on the game that you play some of the apps would run a healer in the back ground window, but you would still have to run the others by hand. Running 5+ game windows on a single PC...  I don't think the healer would perform very well.  Might work better if you had a laptop or a second PC to run your healer on and you just ran all the others on your main.

To sum it up, I really don't know of a tool (yet) that works in any game and runs as many clients as you want on the SAME PC. Games are just so... different. Smile

Hi!

Thanks for the reply.

I have all the software I need for controlling the characters and my computer can handle 5 clients easily, so that's all sorted.

What I'm looking for is a program that will check my groups health and cast heals when I need it, so I can focus on DPS, etc. Problem is, almost every one of your programs says it can do that and I'm not sure which one to buy!

I play several MMO's, so I want a program that will work with a few games (WoW, LoTRO, Rift, etc). And the best one for working on a single PC.

Cheers!

If you read the details each program is a little different and tuned for that game. For instance:

  • The Priest Assistant for WoW will control an inactive game window in the back ground in World of Warcraft, but not in Rift or Vanguard... It uses a different method.
  • LoTRO does not accept keys to an inactive window.  You can send keys to it fine until you send it to the background then the window becomes dead and will not recognize keys sent to it any longer. At least, that is what I find.

I would try the Cleric Assistant for Rift demo out. It uses a method of sending that is probably the most compatible. But there are many games that will not accept keys to an inactive window.  If the software that you run locks the background window as active then the Cleric Assistant for Rift "Might" work with them anyway... It was designed to watch health bars and send keys to a back ground window that you specify.

If you have the healer on its own PC then go with the Boxin Assistant.

Be sure to try before you buy... Wink

Will the WoW priest addon work in groups larger than 5? Ideally I'd like something that will heal in raids, also.

Nope. The priest assistant for WoW will cast up to 3 heals on up to 5 people.  It was designed for healing a single WoW group. If you are going to heal in a raid environment you should look at the Boxin Assistant where you could set up 30+ separate heals, group heals, rezes, cures and more.   But the Boxin Assistant runs on its own PC and operates on an active window.

We do not really have anything thats going to help you run an entire raid on one computer.  Hope this helps :)

I use a program that allows you to "lock" all windows in the foreground and partitions each WoW client into it's own are (I have 3 monitors), so none of the clients are ever really in the "background", plus WoW accepts keystrokes to windows even if they are in the background, so I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Do the trial versions have full functionality? I suppose I'll just have to download a few and give them a try.

Thanks again for the replies! Very helpful!

The trial versions are full versions so give one a try and see what happens.  The Boxin Assistant was meant to run on its own PC and control a foreground window. But the software that you are running which locks them as Active could work nice with this...

With the window "Active" I would use the Boxin Assistant. You can set the Boxin Assistant to send keys to a window title so if they are named differently it could send keys to a certain window for you. And you could calibrate the health bars on your main window if needed.  CTRL+Rightclick will allow you to drag the monitor window around where you want. Also in Tool Settings there is a setting that pauses the tool when you move the mouse to keep from interfering with you.  You probably want to set that to 0. The default is 3 seconds.

Let us know how this works out for you as we have people all the time asking on how to box 5 copies of LoTRO on the same computer or EQ2 and once the window is inactive they no longer respond to keys. What software do you use to lock them as active?

Sounds good, I'll definately give this a try on the weekend.

I wasn't sure if you'd want me to mention the name since I wouldn't have thought you'd want competing software mentioned on your site :P The program I use is called Innerspace (ISBoxer), another program made for multiboxing. It has a lot of cool features like locking all the clients in foreground and removing borders, creating screen layout styles for each client. You can even swap clients to your main screen with a hotkey. Lots of keymap/hotkey stuff.

It doesn't do what your healing assistant does, though, with watching health bars and automating the healing. I've asked the creator of that program about a similar feature but he says it's too close to what Blizzard would call botting.

That brings up another question, have you confirmed that your program doesn't trigger the Blizzard Sentinel security program? I wouldn't want to have my accounts banned! It doesn't interfere with the process or anything like that?

We don't really have a problem with isboxer, but they do seem to have a problem with us.  I think they make a cool product, but when 6 boxing, I find it to limited for our use. We often do raid instances purely boxing and we need heals, cures, dots and such to be cast automatically and intelligently. We are at the keyboard, actively playing and doing our part, but our Control / Boxin Assistant takes care of the menial chores in the back ground.

  • They write a program so that when you press a key it sends artificial keystrokes to several game windows.
  • With our Control Assistant you press a key and it sends artificial keystrokes to several game windows but can also tell the rest of your group to recast all the buffs, cure this, dot that, do this, heal him ect... and they do the rest.
  • If one of us is wrong, both of us are. If one of us is a saint, both of us are. We are in the same boat.  Most games are concerned that you are at the keyboard actively playing.  We are, but just like more control over the other accounts while trying to take down a challenging boss. That is why we wrote what we wrote. It did not exist...

None of our programs sniff memory or interfere with the game in any way.  They are simply screen readers that watch the screen for a color change and react as you set. Much the way a healer watches the health bars and if one goes down they cast a heal on that player.  The Boxin Assistant works the same way. It watches the health bars, and if the color changes, it casts a heal on that player. When there are several heals that need to be cast at the same time it uses a priority system to determine which to cast first.  If there are no heals to be cast it will assist you in combat, just like a real healer would.  Between fights, when you are not in combat it will recast what ever buffs it needs to. Like a real healer would...  Just a good friend to have around.

We have used our tools in WoW for over 5 years without a problem... Blizzard does not call an active player, at the keyboard, while paying a subscription, and not exploiting the game, a "Bot".  It would be great though if you find that isbox and the Boxin Assistant work great together.

Can't we all just get along. Wink
