Hey there. If you have ever installed a custom ui, it leaves behind settings that changes things just enough that auto-calibrate may fail. Here are some tips:

* Be sure that you are running the UCA as administrator by right clicking the icon and choose Run as Administrator or it might not be able to control the mouse properly.

* When you auto calibrate it should:

  1. Flash some colors over the X on the crafting window letting you know it found it.
  2. Start crafting.
  3. Stop crafting and flash a green box over the crafting window.
  4. Close the crafting window, save settings, and say completed.

Is it doing all of these steps correctly?  If the above will not complete each stage then you will have to use the custom ui settings. If you look at the page in the help file it explains each location. It looks like a lot but really only takes about 5 minutes.  Wink

Sounds as if it does not have permission to click the begin button in the game. Be SURE that you are running the UCA as administrator so it can interact with the game. Right click the UCA icon, and choose "Run as Administrator" if you are running windows Vista or 7.  That is the only time that I have ever seen this happen.

I downloaded the demo, and im having the same problem i tried auto calibrating and calibrating manually.  I have the default ui as well and im in administrative mode.  I hit start and it opens up and stops at the begin page.  I watch the messages on the uca and it says crafting failed trying next recipe till it runs through the list then it says crafting finished and stops.  i never see my mouse move from the place i left it.   Thanks     PS I have tried the demo earlier this year on the previous version and i got it to work.

Hey there. Sorry for the delay but I wanted to test this out in game this morning to be sure that there is not a bug in the demo, but of course, the server is down at the moment. It sounds as if it is not finding the crafting window on your system at all. If you want to open a trouble ticket I can help you further with this, though I may need a screen shot of your crafting window so I can check the color and measure it and see what is off. But here are some thoughts:

  • When you click auto calibrate the UCA searches the screen for the X on the crafting window and should flash colors around it when found. If it cannot find it then it closes the crafting window and tries again, up to 5 times, and then gives up.
  • By default it is searching for the default blue themed X on the crafting window. If you have changed the theme colors, or the ui then it will not find it and you will have to use the custom ui settings.
  • You might try disabling desktop composition and see if it helps like this: http://www.pcgametools.com/wiki/wiki/ultimate-crafting-assistant-vs-windows-vista

When the servers are back up I will test out the demo myself and see what I find. Thanks for coming by and giving it a try. Wink

Hey there, I have tried and tried to reproduce this but cannot... I am running windows 7 x64. When I freshly install the demo of the UCA, create a profile, then run auto calibrate, it moves the mouse perfectly, starts crafting, stops and measures, then saves.  I set up 2 recipes and hit F11 and it took off crafting perfectly. There is some detail we are missing.  I am not saying that there is nothing wrong, just that I cannot reproduce it on my system.

One thing I noticed is that in the screen shots that were sent in the crafting window is Blue. My default crafting window is brown. I would not think that this would matter as it should pick up the colors itself on the fly but it is different than mine.

Anyway, I went through the auto calibrate code and rewrote the part that moves the mouse and clicks to stream line it a bit. I also fixed a couple of small annoyances while I was in there like saying ERROR when no profiles exist.  There is also code now to log every time the mouse is clicked if you press CTRL+ALT+L so you should be able to see if it is actually trying to click, and if so where.

Please download version 5.01 from the site and let me know what you find. Thanks for the feed back. No matter how much testing we do someone else will come along and use it in a different way, under a different light with different trees in the front yard and the software will act differently.

Don't get frustrated and give up. I am willing to help if you are willing to test. Try logging a crafting session to see if the mouse actually moves. Wink

I think I have found what it was. There was a bug in auto calibrate where if the tool was stopped then it would not move the mouse. We added this sometime back to make the UCA easier to stop. Why this still worked fine on my test machine I dunno... But anyway, download 5.02 of the UCA from the website and you should be able to calibrate it correctly.

And sorry for the head aches Wink

even after downloading 5.02 it calibrates the window, even tried custom ui to calibrate all the options, but I am having the same problem that it is not allowing it to start crafting, it will pull up the craft window and select the recipe but doesnt start actually crafting. I have the desktop composition setting checked, and tried a few other things including ending the dwm from the task manager window. but it just wont start crafting (hitting the begin button) but it shows it spaming spells that are my hotbar, but these are things like my autoattack and other spells. So I am not sure what else do to.

here is log file from when i just tried it again. though i dont know how to read it enough to know where its going wrong.
